Description
This is the true wild Black Eyed Susan, with single, yellow-gold, daisy-like petals and black centre. A short-lived perennial that can be sown as an annual. Blooms the first season with an early spring sowing. Plant it in the background of the flower bed in sun or light shade. A great cut flower. Direct-seed mid-May through mid-July, or start as transplants for earlier bloom. Lightly cover seed. Germinates at 21C (70F) in 14 days. Space 30cm (1 ft) apart. Height 80cm (2.5 ft.). Approx. 4000 seeds/g.
