Description First class, crystal-white, globular to slightly egg-shaped roots with a juicy, sweet flavour, the healthy option turnips are low in calories and carbohydrates and contain vitamins and minerals. Very easy to grow, with crops from late summer to winter. Leaves can also be cooked as nutritious greens. Sow mid May to mid June; harvest September onwards.
