Delphinium ‘Round Table’ 6 ft (1.8 m) 30 seeds
Stately spires of blue, lavender and white. Sow indoors February-April in pots or trays of seed compost, just covering the seed, at 15-20C (60-68F). Keep moist. Prick out to individual pots when 2-4 true leaves have formed. Harden off and plant out May-July, spacing 18in (45cm) apart. Or sow in a seed bed May-July. Transplant to flowering position in September. Flowers June-August.

Echinacea ‘Lustre Hybrids’ 4 ft (1.2m), 30 seeds
Dramatic blooms from white to purple-red, each with prominent centre cones. Sow indoors February-April in pots or trays of seed compost, at 15-20C (60-68F). Keep moist. Prick out to further pots or trays if necessary. Harden off and plant out May-July, spacing 18-24in (45-60cm) apart. Or sow in a seed bed May-July. Transplant to flowering position in September. Flowers June-September.

Lupin ‘Russell Hybrids’ 4 ft (1.2m), 25 seeds
Elegant blooms, some with contrasting ‘keels’ to the flowers. Sow indoors April-June ideally in individual pots of seed compost, otherwise transplant only if necessary. Keep moist. Harden off and plant out to growing position September-October, spacing 2ft (60cm) apart. Or outdoors in a seed bed or where they are to flower May-July. Transplant to final position September-October. Flowers June-September.

Aromatic grey-green leaves and lavender-blue flowers. Sow indoors January-March in pots or trays of seed compost, just covering the seed at 15-20C (60-68F). Keep moist Prick out to further trays if necessary. Harden off and plant out to flowering position May-June, spacing 6in (15cm) apart. Or sow April-June in a seed bed or flowering position, thin as necessary. Flowers July-October.

Polemonium caeruleum 28 in (70 cm), 50 seeds
Pretty clusters of open blue bells. Sow indoors February-April in pots or trays of seed compost, lightly cover the seed, at 15-20C (60-68F). Prick out to further pots or trays if necessary. Harden off and plant out May-July, spacing 12in (30cm) apart. Flowers June-September.

Poppy ‘Iceland Mix’ 18-24 in (45-60 cm) 500 seeds
Short-lived perennial, brilliant tissue paper blooms on wiry stems. Sow indoors February-April ideally in individual pots of seed compost, otherwise transplant only if necessary. Keep moist. Harden off and plant out to growing position May-July, spacing 6in (15cm) apart. Or sow April-September in a seed bed or flowering position. Flowers June-September. May flower in first year.
