These plants form a firm, underground storage organ during the growing season which bursts forth the next year into fresh foliage and flowers. When they have finished flowering for the year, they may be left in the ground to flower again next year, or dug up, stored indoors and replanted in time for next season - depending on your climate and planting method. There are bulbs, corms and tubers which flower during every season of the year, from winter snowdrops and aconites, to spring favourites such as daffodils and tulips, summer gladiolus and dahlias, and finally autumn crocus and cyclamen.
