Either woody, herbaceous or annual, the long and flexible stems of climbing plants can be used to cover arches, pergolas or fences. They are usually fast growing and provide lots of beautiful foliage and flowers in a many forms. Some of the most popular include clematis, sweetpeas and morning glories, but other less well-known types are just as rewarding, and can be grown successfully from tropical to freezing conditions.
