Description

Florence Fennel forms a bulbous crispy vegetable base with a delicate anise or liquorice flavour. The leaves are fine and ferny.

Plant outdoors in mid-spring in full sunshine. Fennel is a semi-hardy perennial so may survive the winter in some parts of Canada. It is usually grown as an annual. May need to be staked in strong winds. Hot sandy locations with rich soil; pH 6.0-8.0
