Description

A native of Mexico, Tomatillos will adapt to the British climate in the same way as Tomatoes, so if you can grow tomatoes you can grow tomatillos! Related to the Cape Gooseberry, the purplish-green fruits are surrounded by a papery husk and have a sweet/tart flavour. They may be used both cooked and raw and are, of course, the main ingredient in Salsa Verdi. Plants may be grown in a greenhouse or on a sunny warm patio in the south.
