Heuchera pulchella
|
Description
A scarce Heuchera with masses of highly unusual, bicolour florets. These ‘flower towers’ seem incredibly top-heavy as they rise from the neat mound of lush green, palmate foliage. Ideal for the front of borders and the edge of pathways. It could even be grown in containers and placed on the cobble patio of a cottage. However, it is also at home in more modern gardens too, where you will surely be able to conjure up many exciting uses for this great plant.
Botanists recognize fifty species of Heuchera which are all natives of North America. Many of the species, have, however, been eclipsed by the recent explosion of hybrids. These have been raised for their attractive foliage forms, along with the added merit of being highly floriferous.
Height 12-18 inches (30-45cm). Hardy in the UK, Europe, Japan, Australia and North America USDA Zones 9-10.
